My Fitness Journey

Fitness is a journey, not a destination. To believe otherwise is just wishful thinking. In my mind, I picture it as a state of evolution and self improvement. I always strive to push myself and exceed my goals to improve overall health, fitness and aesthetics.

I started pursuing fitness goals from an early age through competitive sports. Throughout my childhood I wrestled for 9 years, played baseball for 6 years, and have participated in several informal alternative sports programs to present. Throughout these experiences I developed a desire to always push myself and pursue greater and more challenging goals. Often times this meant competing in open tournaments and working with my team to strive for victory.

When I entered high school, I was introduced to cross-fitness which peaked my interest in strength and cardiovascular training. Here, fitness became a lot more personal to me rather than competition. Benchmarking my performance became a critical driving force to self improvement. Across four years I was able to see steady improvement through increased weights and reduced time to complete each workout.

Upon graduation, I enrolled at Penn State and moved from cross-fitness to very informal weight training. In my Freshman and Sophomore year I experimented with varying splits and exercises to see what worked best for me. Aesthetics became very important and I also experimented with nutritional diets to help sculpt my ideal body. As I continued to self improve I set my sights on some of the most challenging fitness goals.

For the past 5 months I have been rigorously training to run a marathon, complete a triathlon, and still maintain my ideal look. Through extensive research, talking to nutritionists and personal trainers I have developed my own personalized program to reach my goals.

To reiterate, fitness is a journey. The road to where I am at has been a challenging and rewarding ride, but I know the best is yet to come.
